After landing a few minor roles here and there, augmented reality (AR) is finally getting its big break. AR has already made its mark in a wide range of applications, from airport terminals to retail spaces to healthcare. And soon, you may be seeing it on the big screen.

It’s no secret that special effects have become as integral to the film experience as the main characters themselves. Without green screen technologies, in particular, Daenerys Targaryen would be the Mother of Weird Green Objects, and Game of Thrones would truly suffer for it. However, a new innovative approach to filmmaking with augmented reality could shake up the industry.
